GSP’s executive management is accountable for the improvement of the working environment & culture, the ethical management of the business, and the strengthening & enlargement of the company customer base.
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Comanescu established Grup Servicii Petroliere in 2004 and has served as President of the Board ever since. He was appointed CEO in July 2012. Mr. Comanescu entered the Romanian Commercial Navy in 1988, as electrical officer. 1992 marks his involvement in the general trading business and 1995 the establishment of the first oil service trading company, involved in oilfield equipment and spare parts supply. He has held executive positions in various companies activating in the oil & gas industry. Since 2005, he serves as President of Upetrom Group, an integrated group of companies with activities in offshore drilling and construction, well intervention services, subsea services, hydro-technical construction, training, engineering, shipping, oilfield equipment production, as well as in the tourism sector. Mr. Comanescu has a degree in Naval Electromechanical Engineering from the “Mircea cel Batran” Naval Academy, Constanta. He is a Romanian citizen.
Chief Operations Officer
Mr. Hahui was appointed COO at GSP in January 2012. He was from 2005 GSP’s CEO. In 2000 he was appointed Deputy Engineering Manager at Petromar, the Constanta branch of Petrom. For other four years, Mr. Hahui held the Executive Manager position within a newly established privately owned offshore oil company. Prior to joining Grup Servicii Petroliere (GSP), he has worked more than 23 years in various positions in the offshore oil and gas industry both for Romanian and multinational companies. Mr. Hahui has a degree in Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute, Faculty of Mechanics, Bucharest and a Masters degree in Oil and Gas Management from the Petroleum & Gas University, Ploieşti . Mr. Hahui is a Romanian citizen and he resides in Constanta.
Mr. Mike Autrey has considerable management experience, and having worked in Latin America since 1994 as a consultant for drilling contractors with operational, contractual and legal issues qualified him for the position. Mr. Autrey has started his career serving Western for 17 years, working his way up to managerial positions for marine operations as well as shore based operations in Kenya, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, India, Gabon, Congo, and China. His expertise covers offshore and marine operation of the entire range of offshore drilling installations, from jack-ups to semi-submersible and drillships, shipyard renovation and new construction projects, personnel, logistics, purchasing, and bid packages. Mr. Autrey’s thorough knowledge of the regional market developed while providing service in Mexico, Eastern Venezuela and throughout South America in the field of geothermal, oil and gas drilling.
Mr. Autrey holds a BS degree in Industrial Management with minor in electrical/electronic engineering technology from Northwestern University. He resides permanently in Mexico.
Drilling Managing Director
Mr. Benoit Carayol has joined in November 2012 GSP’s Board of Directors, being appointed Drilling Managing Director.
Mr. Carayol has considerable management experience in drilling, domain he embraced immediately after graduating from “Ecole nationale supérieure d’Arts et Métiers” in 1993. He holds a MS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the ENSAM Paris.
Mr. Carayol has previously worked 15 years for Foramer / Pride International and 4 years within KS Drilling.
Mr. Carayol started working in 1994 as rig manager trainee, becoming rig manager in 1996. He developed his managerial skills in SPS and turnkey wells Project Management. His experience includes a wide span of managerial positions in Operations & Project Management, Onshore and Offshore experience, Branch Management, from drilling and tender assisted rigs, semi-submersibles and deepwater drill ships to site management. Mr. Carayol has also held the position of Profit Center Manager within Pride International. Starting with 2008 Mr. Carayol has held the Vice President Operations at Atlantic Oilfield Services until 2010, when he was nominated Chief Operations Officer at KS Drilling, being responsible for the ongoing company business and implementation of procedures.
Chief Technical Vessels Officer
Mr. Margaritti was appointed in 2009 Chief Officer of Technical Vessels Department. He joined GSP in 2005, as head of the naval operational service, becoming in 2007 Deputy Manager of the Naval Division. He was certified in 1986 as Master activating onboard the Romanian commercial ships, bulk carriers and general cargo vessels. Mr. Margaritti was certified as Auditor and Lead auditor for ISM, ISPS codes. Mr. Margaritti has also held senior positions within Corona Crewing, A1 Team Shipping. Mr. Margaritti has a diploma in navigation from the Navigation Faculty within „ Mircea cel Batran” Marine Institute. He is a Romanian citizen residing in Constanta.
Executive Officer, Naval Department
Mr. Raceanu was appointed Executive Officer of the Naval Department in 2008. From 2005 to 2008 he was the lead auditor for management systems within GL – ESE. Mr. Răceanu entered the Romanian Commercial Navy in 1975, occupying various positions until becoming Head of operation department of Navrom, Constanta. Prior to joining GSP, he held various managerial positions within privately owned companies, both in the naval services and ISM Code and ISO standards consultancy. Mr. Raceanu graduated the Naval Institute, Constanta, becoming Deck Officer on sea going vessels in 1975. In 1981 he was certified Sea Captain by the Romanian Naval Authority. Specializing in management systems, he received the Lead Auditor certification from Germanisher Lloyd for the management systems – ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS, FSR (TAPA) within GL – ESE. Mr. Raceanu is a Romanian citizen and he resides in Constanta.
Chief Offshore Construction Officer
Mr. Carlan joined in 2008 GSP’s team after holding several managerial positions within Petromar, where he entered in 1987 as production engineer further advancing in his career to positions such as O.I.M.-Offshore Installation Manager, Head of Production Department, Deputy General Manager. Mr. Carlan has also occupied the position of Field Production Manager for White Nile (5a) Petroleum Operating Company Ltd. – Sudan Oil and Gas Onshore Company. Mr. Carlan set up the GSP’s offshore constructions department, coordinating at the moment the onshore fabrication activities, the offshore construction operations within the current projects. Mr. Carlan has a diploma in drilling and production wells engineering, graduating the University of Petroleum Engineering Ploiesti. He also attended a series of training and specialization courses in the offshore construction, safety systems of the technological equipments, process management, in France, Italy, U.K., The Netherlands, and Canada. He is a Romanian citizen residing in Constanta.
Chief Hydro-technical Construction Officer
Mr. Stefan Catalin Muntoiu has been appointed Chief Hydro-technical Construction Officer in 2010.
Prior to joining GSP, Mr. Muntoiu had held various managerial positions within Romanian and multinational companies. Between 1999 and 2002 Mr. Muntoiu occupied the position of Technical Manager Supervisor for the Romanian branch of Impregilo SpA Milano during the construction of the North and South Breakwater in Constanta Port. Mr. Muntoiu was Project Manager Counselor for the Romanian branch of Penta Ocean Construction Co. Ltd. Tokyo, for the construction of the container terminal in Constanta Port and for the development of the container terminal platform and facilities.
Mr. Muntoiu graduated Ovidius University in 2000, holding a diploma in Economic Engineering. He specialized in Environmental Management System, Safety and Occupational Health, Fire Fighting. Mr. Muntoiu holds a graduate diploma for Risk Assessment, postgraduate studies organized by the University of Iasi, Romania.
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Bratu was appointed Chief Financial Officer in 2005. Mr. Bratu joined GSP in 2004 as the Head of Economical Office. He started working as an economist within Petromar, the Constanta branch of Petrom. Mr. Bratu has a diploma in economical sciences, finance and marketing from the Faculty of Economical Sciences within Ovidius University, Constanta, Romania. He presently attends a MBA program. He is a Romanian citizen and he resides in Constanta.
Chief HSEQ Officer
Mr. Gheorghe has joined GSP in 2006 as Chief HSEQ Officer & Company DPA. Previously, he has worked for five years as HSE Supervisor onboard D/S Saipem 10000 and then took the position of HSEQ Manager for Saipem Drilling Algeria.
He also capitalized HSE experience in middle management positions such as drilling engineer/ safety supervisor, deputy logistic supervisor, both offshore and onshore. Mr. Gheorghe has a diploma in oil & gas engineering, from the Oil and Gas Institute, Ploiesti, Romania. He attended extensive HSE and survival training in Ploiesti, Rotterdam, Aberdeen, and Pavia. He is a Romanian citizen and he resides in Constanta.
Chief Communications Officer
Mr. Petrescu was appointed Chief Communications Officer in 2005 and is responsible for GSP`s global communications strategies. Mr. Petrescu oversees the company’s external and internal communications functions, including corporate communications, marketing communications and media relations. He also serves as the company`s spokesperson.
Prior to joining GSP, Mr. Petrescu held similar positions in various companies and worked as a Political Consultant within the Center for Political Studies and Comparative Analysis (CPSCA). Mr. Petrescu holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Bucharest, as well as an MBA degree from the DeSales University, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Petrescu is a Romanian citizen and he resides in Bucharest.
Chief Sales Officer
Mrs. Romanescu has been appointed Chief Sales Officer in 2010.
On joining GSP in 2005, she worked within the Naval Division as Chartering Manager for GSP’s offshore vessels, becoming Chief Commercial Officer in 2007. Prior to joining GSP, Mrs. Romanescu had held various managerial positions within the Romanian shipping company CNM Petromin SA. Between 1995 and 1996 Mrs. Romanescu was Chartering Manager for Ermis Maritime Corp., Piraeus and between 1993 and 1994 she was a Chartering Manager for T. Klaveness AS – Baumarine Division, Oslo.
Mrs. Romanescu graduated “Al. I. Cuza” University in 1982, holding a B.A. degree in English Language. Mrs. Romanescu specialized in Ship Chartering within the Norwegian Shipping Academy, Oslo, between 1992 and 1993.
Chief Human Resources Officer
Mrs. Andreea Dorcu was appointed Chief Human Resources Officer in November 2012, her expertise and leadership skills becoming a great addition to GSP’s corporate team. Mrs. Dorcu has previously held the position of HR Manager. She has been with GSP since June 2006 when she started as an economist and treasurer, assisting GSP’s CFO. Mrs. Dorcu is also a Chartered Certified Accountant, at the moment studying to complete her ACCA qualification. Prior to working at GSP, Mrs. Dorcu has held various positions in the economic departments of oil & gas as well as communications and healthcare service companies. Mrs. Dorcu is committed to focus on the human resources strategic development and her most important success until her appointment as GSP’s Human Resources Officer is the SAP HR module full implementation cycle within GSP Shipyard, the process being initiated in 2011. Mrs. Dorcu graduated from the Ovidius University in 2000, holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. She also holds a Master in Business Administration Degree from DeSales & the Romanian-American Universities.
Logistics & Administration Officer
Mr. Bratu was appointed Logistics & Administration Officer in January 2012. He was GSP’s Chief Procurement Officer from 2005. In this position he managed GSP’s all the procurement and logistic activities both for GSP’s current activities carried out in the Romanian and foreign operational bases and the project related ones. Mr. Bratu has held the position of Offshore Drilling Rig Supervisor / Intendant. Mr. Bratu has held several senior positions in agricultural enterprises in Constanta County, becoming Chief of the Privatization department within the Agricultural Direction, Constanta. Mr. Bratu has a diploma in engineering from the Agronomy Institute, Bucharest. He is a Romanian citizen and he resides in Constanta.
Chief IT & C Officer
Mr. Popa was appointed Chief IT & C Officer in 2008. He joined GSP as system engineer, becoming Head of the IT & C department in 2004. Mr. Popa succeeded in coordinating the implementation of the most advanced communication system for all the offshore drilling units and vessels as well as ensuring the IT & C capacities to support the SAP R3 and AMOS business solutions. Mr. Popa has a diploma in automatisations and computers from the Polytechnic Institute of Bucharest, the Faculty of Automatisations and Computers Engineering. Mr. Popa is a Romanian citizen and he resides in Constanta.
Manager, Marine Operations
Mr. Ciochina was appointed Chief Marine Officer in 2007. For six years Mr. Ciochina worked as mechanical engineer within Oilfield Poeni, a branch of Romanian National Oil Company. He entered the offshore Oil & Gas industry in 1999, starting working as chief mechanic onboard Petromar jack-up offshore drilling rigs. Mr. Ciochina has held various senior positions along his career – barge and jacking engineer, onboard Company representative, mechanical and electrical supervisor, responsible with all non drilling activities onboard MODUs. Mr. Ciochina has a diploma in mechanical engineering for oilfield equipment, graduating the Mechanical Engineering Faculty within the Petroleum University, Ploiesti. He also attended a series of specialized trainings within ETSDC Abu Dhabi UAE, PETROFAC Sharjah UAE, and Martin International –Laplace Louisiana USA, Mr. Ciochina is a Romanian citizen, residing in Constanta.
