Grup Servicii Petroliere aims to reduce fuel consumption by at least 10% for all its shipping activities by the end of this year. The target can be achieved thanks to the new technologies implemented on board the new vessels part of GSP fleet.
GSP Altair, GSP Centaurus and GSP Pegasus, DPS 2 platform supply vessels entering GSP fleet in 2014, are powered by Cummins Quantum engines. They contribute, in addition to significant fuel reduction, to the improved control and significant reduction of the atmospheric emissions of oxides, hydrocarbons and particles. The economic operations the vessels carry out on the Romanian continental shelf of the Black Sea have a reduced environmental impact. The engines benefit from the improved design and control of the combustion process. The new technology allows meeting international emission reduction requirements and provides monitoring options leading to the optimization of operational critical parameters, including fuel consumption and noise levels.
GSP maintains the DNV-Germanischer Lloyd certifications for the integrated management systems (ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007).
With due consideration to environmental protection, GSP continues to sustain a preventive approach toward preserving the environment. The environmental management system ensures a continuous improvement of the performance in this aspect of our business. The climate changing along with increasing in energy demand and limitation of the resources, present major challenges for the oil and gas industry, which has a primary responsibility to deliver the energy in the safest way possible. The conformity with the environment regulations is permanently controlled throughout our company, on each and every worksite, making sure the proper preventive measures are taken in due time for achieving the set objectives.
GSP also focuses on the sustainable management of resources, mitigating the impact of operations on ecosystems; in this respect, efforts are made to effectively use the water resources, to ensure the proper disposal of wastes and collection of recyclable materials. Dedicated programs aimed to reduce the energy and water consumption are running. Special attention is given by all GSP personnel to rigorously observe all applicable safety standards aimed for reducing the impact of economic activities on the environment.
