GSP conducts regular monitoring of the wastewater and submits laboratory test reports to document the proper management of the wastewater and rainwater, complying with the specifications of the environmental permit and submits specific reports to the Environment Protection Agency, as per 12864 RP/21.10.2014. GSP ensures also full compliance with the health legislation in force regarding water protection by collecting wastewater and rainwater and discharging it into the sewer network managed by the Constanta Port Administration.
The 2014 investment plan developed for our operational base in Constanta North Midia has included the following works: the driveway rehabilitation from the port access gate to GSP operational base, new parking lots, connection of the local water network to the regional water supply management system for berths 9 to 12, harbor dredging up to the designed operational water depth for berths 9 to12 and mooring system fitting next to berth 10.
GSP maintains the DNV-Germanischer Lloyd certifications for the integrated management systems (ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007).
With due consideration to environmental protection, GSP continues to sustain a preventive approach toward preserving the environment. The environmental management system ensures a continuous improvement of the performance in this aspect of our business. The climate changing along with increasing in energy demand and limitation of the resources, present major challenges for the oil and gas industry, which has a primary responsibility to deliver the energy in the safest way possible. The conformity with the environment regulations is permanently controlled throughout our company, on each and every worksite, making sure the proper preventive measures are taken in due time for achieving the set objectives.
GSP focuses also on the sustainable management of resources, mitigating the impact of operations on ecosystems; in this respect, efforts are made to effectively use the water resources, to ensure the proper disposal of wastes and collection of recyclable materials. Dedicated programs aimed to reduce the energy and water consumption are running. Special attention is given by all GSP personnel to rigorously observe all applicable safety standards aimed for reducing the impact of economic activities on the environment.
