GSP Saturn heads toward the Mediterranean for new offshore drilling contracts
March 19, 2010
MODU GSP Saturn left Constanta Port on the 17th of March, heading towards Tuzla Port in Turkey.
On the 19th of March the offshore drilling rig safely transited the Bosporus strait, under the Bosporus Bridge and crossing over the subsea cables. The offshore drilling rig will enter Tuzla for the drilling derrick and the rig’s legs completion, as they were partially removed and transported to the shipyard by boat. Those operations were compulsory in order to ensure the safe passage of the offshore drilling rig under the Bosporus Bridge. The bridge limits the transiting vessels to a maximum safety height of 55 meters above the sea.
GSP Saturn will enter a series of offshore drilling contracts in the Mediterranean Sea.
