GSP denies plans to sell the GSP Falcon, the DVN pipelay vessel
August 22, 2012
The ODS Petrodata daily newswire published on the August 21 edition the following news:
“GSP FALCON TO BE SOLD
ROMANIA/NORTH SEA: Grup Servicii Petroliere (GSP) advises that negotiations are underway to sell its pipelay vessel GSP Falcon.
Subsea 7 sold the vessel to GSP in September 2011, following its merger with Acergy. Its sale was one requirement stipulated by the UK’s Office of Fair Trading (OFT) following the merger in January 2011. The vessel has had little utilisation in the past year.”
Contrary to this report, GSP advises there are no negotiations underway for its pipelay vessel GSP Falcon to be sold. GSP Falcon is currently operating in the North Sea, under a pipelay contract with Wintershall Nordzee. Current negotiations show that the vessel shall be fully booked for the year 2013.
GSP purchased the vessel from Subsea 7 in September 2011.
